INCREMENT P and HERE of the Netherlands Strengthen Partnership to Expand Location-based Data Offerings Utilizing HERE’s network to provide global customers with Japan map data

Amsterdam, The Netherlands/Tokyo, Japan – HERE Technologies, (CEO: Edzard Overbeek), the leading location data and technology platform and INCREMENT P CORPORATION (President and CEO: Takahito Aiki), the location intelligence company that makes full use of high-precision 3D map data and other location-based technologies, today announced that INCREMENT P will distribute its map data through the HERE Marketplace, a centralized platform for the exchange of location-based data.

Since the company was established, INCREMENT P’s packaged map data has been developed for car navigation systems and includes 1.25 million kilometers of map data accumulated from its own driving surveys throughout Japan, and a total of 6.6 million kilometers accumulated since 2005. In anticipation of the coming era of automated driving and with the accelerating speed of development of the industry as a whole, we hope that INCREMENT P’s map data will be used by companies around the world for a variety of purposes, including the development of new types of business, such as home delivery, and marketing activities such as area marketing analysis.


HERE is a global platform in the field of location data, developing and providing a location platform for companies around the world to use local map and location data for their activities and businesses. Since 2004, INCREMENT P has been one of the first companies in the industry to develop digital maps, and as a result of its own research and surveys covering 1.25 million kilometers throughout Japan (6.6 million kilometers in total), INCREMENT P possesses a map database that includes road network data and industry-leading address data which corresponds to the unique address system in Japan.
HERE and INCREMENT P began a business partnership in 2017 with the aim of creating a global map solution for the era of automated driving. Since then, HERE has adopted the Japan map database provided by INCREMENT P, the only Japan map data to be used on HERE Workspace, a development environment that enables companies to analyze and process their own information by combining it with HERE’s map information.

In order to respond to the global demand for the use of Japanese map data, INCREMENT P’s map data will be distributed through the HERE Marketplace, which is on the HERE location platform. Both parties will be able to create new demand and procure supply to meet the needs of customers around the world.

The HERE Marketplace centralizes a wide range of location-based data from around the world on a platform that allows companies that want to utilize local location information to seamlessly buy, sell and trade with data providers on the HERE Marketplace.

INCREMENT P has established its own map maintenance system and provides a wide variety of datasets such as road network data for car navigation, detailed map data including building footprints, address data that corresponds to Japan’s unique address system, spot (POI: Point of Interest) data that can be used for destination search and analysis. In addition, INCREMENT P has an address cleansing API useful for normalizing address data, as well as providing information on future changes in road and city infrastructure that can be used for marketing purposes.
